EVALUATION SERVICES
Speech language evaluations generally take 1-1/2 hours and are scheduled by appointment. Evaluations are based upon specific communication concerns for the patient. Typically an evaluation involves assessing the areas of language, articulation/phonology, voice, fluency and oral motor abilities. Hearing screenings are normally administered to rule out a possible hearing loss as a contributing factor to a communication disorder. Based upon the results of the evaluation recommendations are made.
THERAPY SERVICES
Each patient is seen on an individual basis for speech language therapy services. The frequency of therapy is based upon the needs of the patient. Therapy goals are established in accordance with deficit areas determined by the evaluation. Family involvement is highly encouraged to promote carryover of the therapy goals into other settings.
